CEMA, the European Association of Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers, has released a new position paper on carbon farming, highlighting the importance of sustainable agriculture and the role of agricultural machinery in reducing carbon emissions.
The paper, titled ‘Carbon Farming: A Sustainable Future for European Agriculture’, emphasizes the need for a coordinated approach to carbon farming, involving farmers, policymakers, and industry stakeholders. It also highlights the potential of agricultural machinery to play a crucial role in reducing carbon emissions and promoting sustainable agriculture.
According to the paper, carbon farming is a critical component of the European Union’s strategy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and achieve climate neutrality by 2050.
The paper also emphasizes the need for policymakers to provide incentives for farmers to adopt carbon farming practices, such as carbon credits and subsidies for sustainable agriculture.
CEMA’s position paper is a timely contribution to the ongoing debate about the future of European agriculture and the role of agricultural machinery in reducing carbon emissions.
The paper is available for download on the CEMA website.
‘We believe that carbon farming is a key component of a sustainable future for European agriculture,’ said CEMA’s Secretary General. ‘We urge policymakers to take action to support farmers in adopting carbon farming practices.’
CEMA is a leading trade association for the European agricultural machinery industry, representing over 100 companies that manufacture and supply agricultural machinery to farmers across Europe.
The association is committed to promoting sustainable agriculture and reducing the environmental impact of agricultural production.
In addition to its position paper on carbon farming, CEMA has also launched a new campaign to promote sustainable agriculture and reduce carbon emissions in the agricultural sector.
The campaign, titled ‘Sustainable Agriculture for a Sustainable Future’, aims to raise awareness about the importance of sustainable agriculture and promote best practices for reducing carbon emissions in agriculture.
‘We believe that sustainable agriculture is essential for a sustainable future,’ said CEMA’s Secretary General. ‘We urge farmers, policymakers, and industry stakeholders to work together to promote sustainable agriculture and reduce carbon emissions.’
