CEMA, the European Association of Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers, has released a new position paper on carbon farming, highlighting the importance of sustainable agriculture and the role of agricultural machinery in reducing carbon emissions.
The paper, titled ‘Carbon Farming: A Sustainable Future for European Agriculture’, emphasizes the need for a coordinated approach to carbon farming, involving farmers, policymakers, and industry stakeholders. It also highlights the potential of agricultural machinery to play a crucial role in reducing carbon emissions and promoting sustainable agriculture.
According to the paper, carbon farming is a critical component of the European Union’s strategy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and achieve climate neutrality by 2050.
The paper also emphasizes the need for policymakers to provide incentives for farmers to adopt carbon farming practices, such as carbon credits and subsidies for sustainable agriculture.
